FAQs

What is compounding? Compounding is the process of mixing, combining, or changing pharmaceutical products to meet the individual, specific needs of a patient. Through compounding, pharmacists can create a medication that is no longer commercially available, flavor a medication, create unique strengths of a medication, or transform a medication into a different dosage form. Compounding can be used when preparing prescriptions for children, adults, and pets.

What is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)? HRT is a type of compounding that uses hormones identical in structure to those naturally found in the human body to replace or supplement the body's hormone production. HRT can be used orally, topically, sublingually, or vaginally to meet the needs of individual patients. HRT commonly combines Estrogens, Progesterone, Testosterone, and DHEA to create a unique, individual preparation for a patient as determined by the prescribing physician. HRT prescriptions are written by doctors and are typically based from the results of blood tests, saliva tests, and symptomology of the patient.

Why should I use a local pharmacy like ClearSpring? ClearSpring Pharmacy is able to offer a variety of services not typically available at chain drug stores, such as prescription delivery, compounding services, and specialized, unique over-the-counter offerings. More importantly however, ClearSpring Pharmacy offers you individualized attention, exceptional customer service, and a level of commitment to pleasing our patients that is not typically found at chain store environments. As a locally owned business, ClearSpring Pharmacy is pleased to serve our community and is thankful for every patient we have!

Is ClearSpring Pharmacy more expensive than large chain stores? We work hard to keep our prices on over-the-counter drugs and supplements affordable, and price competitive. We frequently compare the prices of our OTC offerings to our competitors, and guarantee that we offer our patients the best prices possible based on our cost. Traditional prescription copays on items processed through insurance are controlled by the individual's insurance company and are not controlled by your pharmacy of choice. We are dedicated to offering affordable generic options, and will price match when able to on traditional items not billed through insurance.
